My Xbox Series X will not power on consistently

I recently purchased a Series X through an online auction, and the console won't start.

When I press the power button, the power button lights up for a moment and then goes out, and the console does not start.

I replaced the power supply unit, and the power came back on for about a minute, but the same issue occurred again.

Which part is giving me this issue?

Hey there, I edited your question a little bit for clarity. Just for clarification, were you ever able to boot your Xbox to the home page, or play any games?

Hi jacob !

Thank you for your comment. My English is bad so I hope I can convey it well.

No, I couldn't play games because it wouldn't start; the power would turn off before I could even get to the home screen.

When I replaced the power supply unit and it started up for about a minute, it worked until I got to the user selection screen.

Not a problem! I'm wondering if it could be an issue with your device's cooling. When you try to boot the device on are you able to hear the cooling fan kick on?

by

thank you!

The cooling fan isn't working right now. Again, the fan was working right after I replaced the power supply unit. However, now the fans don't work and the logo screen doesn't appear. Looks like the power will turn off before that happens.

Anyway, I'll try replacing the cooling grease this weekend.

Did you ever figure out what the issue was?
Mine is doing the EXACT same thing.
Powers up with the light on, fan spins up then off and shortly after that the console shuts off.
I bought a replacement power supply but dunno if that is the issue, haven't taken it apart yet.
Cheers

Hi

In the end, I'm left with an Xbox that doesn't work and I don't know why.

I ended up buying another one so I'm playing with that one now.

I replaced the thermal paste.

I assembled it and tested it, but the situation remained the same.

As shown in the video, I turned on only the motherboard (logic board), but it's the same, so this may be the cause.

There was a similar repair video on YouTube, but I don't have any more technical skills, so I'll take a break for now.

thank you
