If you do not connect the ribbon cable does it kill the keyboard?

I was doing some repairs to my keyboard. It was working great, I needed to install the middle frame so I re-disconnected the ribbon cable and assembled everything, upon reassembling I forgot to connect the ribbon cable before connecting the battery, I realized the mistake, disconnected the battery connected the ribbon cable, and the keyboard acted like it was charging but was losing battery rapidly, pulled everything back apart checked the connections again and found that the connections were good but the device slowly died, and would not take a charge.

Answer this question I have this problem too

It might have. I forgot to connect a cable in my old iMac and it killed the whole device. Then again, not all devices are the same. When you reconnected the cable and tested it, did it connect? Try keeping it plugged in, and see if you can connect it to your computer using a wired connection .
