Doesn’t read sim card and it’s now stuck on apple logo

My iPad suddenly started not reading my sim. The update was 16.1, and when i tried to update it to the next one it would get stuck on the “verifying update”. I have sent it to an official repair store, they’ve tried to force the os install but apparently is now bricked. It goes all the way through the “hello” procedure and it then gets stuck on the apple logo, probably it tries to read the sim tray but it won’t go beyond that. Is there a way to fix it? Even if it needs to be opened or something.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

If you have a computer plug the side you plug into the wall or charging brick into the computer and plug the other end into the iPad and use iTunes to restore your iPad to factory settings and set it up like you just got it.

Also it’s already been factory resetted, but it won’t go past the apple logo after the whole “hello” and setting procedure

You can use the eSIM if your sim slot isn’t working or you can replace it

Problem is, i can’t go beyond the setup process. It just gets stuck there. Even the pc doesn’t recognize the ipad when i connect it. It doesn’t show up in itunes at all. It doesn’t let me finish the setup process. There seems to be no way around it. I’m not completely sure opening the ipad and changing the sim tray will solve the issue

I definitely think they would have tried it already at the store. Maybe the os doesn’t get installed because it checks for a sim tray but it can’t find it. Could trying to install an OS for a wifi only ipad be an idea? It shouldn’t check for the sim tray and then proceed to the install.

It should not check for Sim card Trey on iPad and it should give you a wifi option. If it doesn't work I might suggest using Apple's trade in program and trade the iPad in and see if you can get a new one
