To Remove battery adhesive

Can I use hand sanitizer to remove the battery adhesive other than isopropyl alcohol?

It is best not to.

Isopropyl Alcohol 99%+ leaves no conductive residues and also evaporates quickly.

Hand sanitizer is composed of a mixture of alcohol (either Ethanol or Isopropyl) plus other ingredients (they vary depending on the manufacturer) and they may leave conductive residues unless thoroughly cleaned away, which could be risky depending on what was then used to clean any residues off.

My view is that it's best to use the IPA 99%+ as a 1 step process. Apply a bit at a time, gently remove some of the adhesive before the IPA evaporates and so on until the adhesive is all gone. Job done.
