Square button just stop working

My controller is working then all of a sudden the square button just won’t work again. Then I turned on and off the system and reset the controller because no buttons were working for me to play the games. Which is odd because those same buttons allowed me to navigate my way to turn the system on and off and to select x button to get out of a game. After restarting and resetting the controller it works again. But NOT the square button. How can I fix this issue?

Answer this question I have this problem too

In case the controller is really dirty the dirt may find it's way under the button cap to the contact points. The dirt between the contact point and the button may intervene the working of the button.

The best way to resolve this would be to disassemble the controller and clean the contact points completely. You could try the easy way and just spray some contact cleaner from on top of the controller and hope for the best, but it may just make the situation worse.
