Unfortunately Xiaomi ended support for their Note 8 handset in February of 2023 so there will be no more Android releases for this handset.

I suspect you already have the latest supported version already installed (MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11) but you can check this in the "About Phone" section of the phone's settings.
