Blades will not engage in reverse, but does going forward
Craftsman lawn, Mower Dyt4000 when I put it in reverse blades will not turn on, but works fine going forward

The main problem here is the result of a safety feature in the mower known as the Reverse Operation Switch that was added by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). While not mandatory and mostly a volunteer based standard since 2003, many mower companies have implemented this feature there are ways to bypass this I will link a video since I'm not experienced in the world of rideable mowers. Sorry that I wasn't able to help with this, but hopefully, this video helps!
