Replace battery in Samsun "Smart" solar remote (RMCSPB1EP1)

Has anyone managed to open their Samsung TV "smart" remote (Part no: RMCSPB1EP1) with the solar panel?

Mine is no longer holding charge (only 2 or 3 years old) and I'd rather open and replace the battery than throw away an otherwise perfectly functional remote and have to pay AU$130 for a replacement remote.

Samsung are promoting the remote as being "eco friendly" because it doesn't take alkaline batteries, but they've made sure it's very hard to get into to replace the (presumably LiPo) battery.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Use this link to examine an opened remote; https://electric.garden/samsung-a3l/smar.... Examine and enlarge the images for clues for mounting hardware or lack of them. If mounting screws aren't visible, they may be hidden under labels. Use a small round object or fingernail and press on the label. Any depression may be where screws are and require peeling off the label. If screws aren't used, the case may snap together, requiring careful prying to find where the clamshell snaps together. If you are successful in disassembling the case halves, locate the batteries and either desolder them and/or attempt to power up the remote with AA cells temporarily wired in to see if the remote will operate. If the remote operates, you can search for replacement batteries. Good luck as it is a worthwhile project.

Did you open the remote? I'm still trying:(

I have managed to open the remote without damaging it. But unable to find the replacement battery pack online.

Can you post a photo? I’m probably going to have to go down the same route rather than spend €60 every two years!

@thomassibu If you do as @simonjones83784 suggests and post a photo of the battery, it's entirely possible the iFixit community may be able to help locate one; I've rebuilt battery packs where I couldn't locate the exact replacement.

In addition, as Simon was asking, it would be great if you could also add pictures of what it takes to open the remote up since you've discovered a secret that has eluded many others.
