This 21" 140cc Gas Push Mower is ideal for smaller yards. It struggles dealing with overgrowth, so keep that in mind when purchasing.

New 2year old mower will not run.

Mower never used but has been started in the past. Will not run when I pull the cord, will fire up if I use starter fluid, but dies when I stop spraying. Carb is clean as is fuel and air filters, fresh gas, spark plug cleaned and looks good. I have run out of ideas, anyone have a solution?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

If gas was left in the carburetor and not drained before storage, fuel can congeal and clog passageways. Ethanol attracts moisture and evaporates. Leaving white residue that also clogs passageways. If you're able to, remove and disassemble the carburetor for cleaning. There are many youtube videos on small engine repairs.

Thanks, I had already taken the carb apart, used cleaner on it, it looked clean and new. I’ve gone through all the steps and it still won’t stay running.

This problem points to fuel feed from tank to carburetor and carburetor since you stated the engine runs as long as starting fluid is sprayed into the carb. Presuming this carb has a float, is the float chamber half filled with fuel or not? Is the needle valve and float able to move up and down, opening/closing needle valve when enough fuel fills the bowl? Is the jet clean and free of blockage?
