After replacing my charger port the fingerprint sensor isn't working

I replaced the broken charger port on my phone and my fingerprint sensor isn't working. It doesn't appear on the security settings and none of my apps recognize that I have one. I noticed a black cable close to the side of my phone case was crinkled a little. How can I fix this?

Motorola has a few different versions of your model. Could you provide the exact model number of your device? It can be found in settings. Scroll down to about phone and I believe there's a hardware tab in there. Select that. Model number starts with "XT" followed by 4 numbers.
