How do I replace both usb-c charging ports?

I can no longer charge the laptop while it's working. I can only charge the laptop when it's closed and upside-down using the left usb-c port (beside the microphone port).

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @amalone1tu

You can easily replace the USB-C port on the right side (is it damaged at all?) as this is mounted on a separate, removable board.

The USB-C port on the left side is harder to replace as it is soldered onto the motherboard.

Here's the maintenance and service guide for the laptop.

Go to p.29 to view the procedure to remove the USB board.

Search online for L91522-001 to find board suppliers that suit you best.

I can't understand why the left side USB-C port only works when it is upside down. However I can understand that it may not be able to charge the battery when the laptop is on and the lid is open as perhaps the battery is failing and the charger can't do both things at once i.e. run the laptop and charge a failing battery at the same time. When the lid is shut the laptop requires less power as a lot of functions are shut down

Try replacing the battery and check if this resolves the left USB-C port problem. See p.23 of the service guide and search online for L75783-005 to find battery suppliers that suit you best.
