My Panasonic TV shuts down and a red light is blinking

Hello,

I have the Panasonic TH-L55ET60M and when I connect the power cable to the wall, the TV starts and after a few seconds shuts off and a red light starts blinking.

I have seen other people complain about this problem but the suggested solutions didnt work for me.
Here's a video showing the problem: Video

Still on the issues of blinking red light, I took it technician they replace almost all the internal panel with another one of same product but the blinking still persist

Hi @danazumiyusuf,

Hopefully you didn't pay them for the repair as it isn't fixed. Either ask them to fix it or ask for a refund.

What is the model number of the TV?

Count how many times the red light blinks. This is an error code and it comes in a pattern e.g. 5 blinks > pause > 5 blinks > pause etc or 9 blinks > pause etc

Knowing the blink error code may help to find out what's wrong

If the tech swapped all the boards, the the only thing left is the panel. THE BLINK SEQUENCE IS AN IMPORTANT INDICATOR. 7 blink series would be the T-Con board, but you say that all were swapped out.

well, it is obviously not the power cable. The TV comes on and displays a message. Then goes off. The logical conclusion is a heavier than normal drain on the power supply causing it to trip off.

1 blink is a back light SOS.

Open it up and find the back light power connector on the power (P) board and unplug it. No don't, it will disconnect the power switch. You may have to cut the 24V line temporarily. Find the manual here and look on pg 27

Then see if it goes off. You won't see any video unless you shine a light onto the screen, but if it does not go off, the back light is where your problem is. Maybe a bad LED or more causing too much current flow.

@post a couple of good pictures of your boards with your question. That way we can see what you see. The error is a backlight error but could be originating from the power board. You can verify this by temporarily connecting the backlight error circuit to ground. Ultimately it sounds like you have to replace the backlight strips.

Power cable looks fine, I also tried changing it but the problem still persists.

So you say its something inside the tv that I cant really fix by myself right?

by

Yes, if changing the power cable didn't resolve the issue and the TV continues to shut down with a blinking red light, it's likely a more complex internal problem. It's best to consult Panasonic's customer support or a qualified technician to properly diagnose and repair the issue, as attempting to fix it yourself could potentially cause more harm.
