After ipad1 drop ,screen has alot of red on LCD screen?

My daugthter dropped her Ipad1 when she opened it

the blacks had turned to Red.

could you tell me what has happened and is there a software solution or is it a total hardware fix.

I just dropped mine about five minutes ago and all I did was smack the corners of the ipad on the a table one at a time and check after each smack and it seemed to become normal again after the third corner smack.

The screen ribbon got back to its place again I gess.

I'd say it's a hardware problem, because dropping it doesn't do anything with the software. It might be a problem within the display connector or the logic board.
