The iPod Seventh Generation, marketed and sold as the "iPod Classic", was released in September 2009, and did not have any visible differences compared to the previous version. It simply replaced the previous 120GB iPod Classic 6.5 with a thin 160GB version.

If restarting does not work, the battery may need replaced. See iPod Classic Battery Replacement guide to replace your battery.

It's a cliché, but try turning it off and on again. Fixes mine when it plays silly buggers. Press and hold the centre and menu buttons, then the screen will go off and it should reboot.
