What is causing ghost touch on iPhone 6s?

I've had my iPhone 6s since 2016 and i took good care of it for the past 7 years. The screen is still the original. The battery has been replaced 4 times now. However, 2 years ago, the screen started manifesting issues where the device thinks i'm tapping on it when I'm actually not. It's crazy i know that I managed to deal with it for so long. What puzzles me is why if i lock and unlock the device, the ghost touching goes away. However, the problem comes back in 5-10 minutes.

I thought this is a software bug so I did a factory restore back in February of this year. That didn't fix it. Just last week, I swapped out the battery for a new one and that too didn't solve the issue.

Fit a new screen, opening and closing for battery changes has probably flexed the screen causing the issue. Screens are cheap for those phones now.
