Power Button not working after Screen Replacement

I replaced my iPod Display, but when I tested it I noticed that the power button is no longer working, but the volume buttons work, so I think the cable is still working.

How can i fix this? Do I have to buy new hardware and if so what exactly?

I recently had this issue. It happened to me when I used metal conductive tools (all metal no platic or rubber). I did a couple with and without the tools and the ones i did without those tools worked 100% everytime. I just now use a #0 screwdriver to take off the copper tape and camera protector. I am afraid it is a permanent issue. If it is still under warranty and you replaced the screen cleanly apple may be able to help you.

You have a bad, or tore the power flex cable and need to replace it. You'll need to de-solder the + terminal on the battery and slip some Kapton tape between the battery lead and the board. After that, you'll need to replace the power flex cable which requires soldering. It is IMPARITIVE that you disconnect the + terminal on the battery, otherwise if you start de-soldering/replacing the flex cable you can easily short out the logic board.

You probaly damaged the flex cable right by the power button when you raised the circuit board up. Alot of the cables flair out there and get caught by the lip of the board and tear. Your volume will still work since the tear is on that side of the cable. I have soldered many flex cables on and have never removed a battery to do it. Don't touch 2 different leads at one time and you should be fine.

I just replaced power flex and followed one of the ifixit guides and it didn't mention to desolder the battery terminal... My power button isn't responding after replacing flex ??? What else?
