Shuts down while booting up

When I power up, the Mac gets as far as the progress bar and sometimes password screen then shuts down? Can you help?

Restart the system and this time press the D key to enter into the onboard diagnostics. Run it and take note of any errors, let us know what happens.

@rob37778 - to be clear the system was stable during diagnostics, correct?

Now let’s try Safe Mode if it’s still stable that tells me the GPU or the displays T-CON board which jumps between the lower scan rate to a higher one during boot up process.

To isolate which you need to connect an external monitor to the system via Thunderbolt (mDP) port. If the external work in normal bootup the internal display needs to be replaced or in some cases the T-CON can be fixed
