Headphone output not working.

Sound is only coming from the speaker and not reading the headphones when plugged into the device. What could be the possible broken components?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi Gage,

Looking at the Connector Board guide for your device, there's a big flat ribbon cable connecting the on/off switch and two jacks to the rest of the system.

I'd start out by checking that connector and making sure it's fully plugged in; there's a fair chance it got knocked loose when you dropped it. Use this guide to open it up so you can check.

If the on/off switch isn't working that would tend to confirm that connector is loose. If that connector isn't the problem, you might have to open it up and check the other end as well.

Of course, you'll want to check the two headphone type jacks for any physical damage as long as you're in there; look for the jack being broken off the board or any of the circuit board connectors being torn loose.

The charging and input connectors are working. I’m going to check all the connectors now thank you

Charge, input both work, output still doesn’t. Would this still be the connector board, I would think more components would be broke this way

@gageop1 Boy, it's really hard to say at this point. Can you post some high resolution pictures of both sides of the board at the output jack? Then we can check to see if there's anything obviously wrong.

This is likely caused by a broken plug on the cable, a broken wire in the cable, or a faulty headphone jack its self. Without more information such as the device, headphones, or photos… there’s not much any of us here can do for you.

Update, my op-1 was dropped from like 2ft and then the headphone output isn’t working. It’s not the headphones, it’s the device.

by

My bad I totally didn’t see the device when I commented this, that’s what I get for posting after a long day of work.

All good if the other components on the connector board are working what would be the next component it could possibly be?
