Can I replace a disc drive of a ps5 from a donor board?

Can i replace a disc drive of a ps5 from a donor board? Will it just work if i put that disc drive into the other ps5?

Unfortunately the PS5s disc drive is paired with the motherboard. So whilst it will fit and go together the drive will not function.

This disc drive and motherboard must be replaced together.

Yes you can with extra work, the board on the disc drive from your ps5 disc drive will have to be taken off and put on the replacement disc drive as it's married to your ps5 motherboard

I can't verify this but according to installation guides I found, there is a daughter board with the PS5 that you can remove and plug into the new disk drive case. As long as the daughter board and motherboard are in tact and don't get damaged, you should be fine.

You can see in this part of the video he is moving the daughter board to the new drive.

I'm not much help otherwise but I can say that this video conflicts with what the person above said and there is a bunch of misinformation going around. I can't verify who is right.
