Low battery life after screen and battery swap.

Hey all!

I got an 11 pro max badly damaged absurdly cheap. Changed the screen (swapped for a non-original OLED screen) and battery. Now the battery life really sucks. Could this be happening due to the screen which isnt original (even though its OLED) or did i get a bad/fake or whatever battery?

For those who have done such repairs, has this happened to y'all?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi Estevão,

There shouldn't be a significant difference in power drawn by the screen even for aftermarket OLED displays. If you'd gotten an LCD replacement then yes, you would see it take more watts to run due to the need for a backlight, but the OLED shouldn't be giving you problems.

Personally, I'd go ahead and swap out the battery again; look for a different vendor this time. You don't necessarily have to spend a lot; I've had pretty good luck with aftermarket batteries overall, but you never quite know for sure how long they've been sitting on a shelf. There are people selling new batteries made in 2019, which you definitely don't want.

I'll ask for some battery recommendations locally, see what comes up.

The vendor told me it was a "china original" battery haha since i was in hurry to get the phone up and running i didnt really care about it.
