How to unplug a JST connector for battery

HI i have a small 5200mAH battery that is connected to a circuit board by a very small jst connector. it slides into a small black base on the ciruit board. how do i unplug it ??

@kentchou A clearer picture would really help. Usually you want to use your fingernails to try to wiggle the edges of the white connector out from the black one in the direction of the wires.

Be gentle when you pull, gradually adding strength.

I think the other guy may be right, looks like it's a vertical connector. Grip the wires and just pull upwards away from the board. Again, don't jerk when you pull. Add pressure gradually.

Hi @kentchou , I think this might be a vertically mounted connector, try very slowly and gently prying up around the white edges of the connector, being careful to not rip the connector itself off. Thanks!

It does appear to be top mount but there’s nothing to grasp onto to lift it

@kentchou Try catching the edge of it with a fingernail or similar, maybe a plastic spudger if you have one, it'll be fiddly but should work, at worst you could try lifting it up by the cable extremely gently
