What wire should I use for the speaker?

Hello! I have this game boy color with a messed up speaker and while trying to strip the wire I accidentally cut it, and it is way too short. I don’t have any wire the same size as this, but I have one that is smaller. Will this red wire work? It is about 1/2 to 1/3 the size.

Hi @nintendog909

If you have got enough red wire, run two red wires in parallel from the speaker to where they connect on the board. i.e. instead of one thick wire there will be two thin wires, but electrically they will be the same.

Realistically as long as the wire type is good quality you're fine; you just need to make sure it fits without being crushed, basically.

Any reasonably thick wire will work since you're dealing with LV at most. If this were HV wiring it might matter.
