Shift lever not changing gears effectively.

Not a solution but I'm having the same issue!

My 2013 impreza is doing this more and more lately. Sometimes taking me up to 20+ mins actively trying to get it out (not to mention looking stupid and a lil crazy to anyone parking next to me) I have a automatic and I'm hoping to avoid dismantling my center shifting area but this is killing me

Answer this question I have this problem too

Are you aware of cvt (continuously variable transmission) issues and their uniqueness compared to regular automatic transmissions? While using less mechanical gears, a cvt requires expertise in diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing them. In one sense, they're not repairable as it's less expensive to replace with a used unit than repairing one. A Subaru dealer may be your only choice if you can't find a repair shop with expertise in Subaru CVTs. As a new Crosstrek Sport owner with the 2.5L engine and cvt, my casual knowledge of our CVTs consists of; electronically controlled shifts, hydraulics performing adjustment of two pairs of variable pulleys with a steel belt and a few gears to provide that shiftless feel while accelerating.
