Rear Camera Blurry After Back Glass Repair

Hi,

I sent a couple of iPhone 8 Plus phones off recently for back glass repairs and when I received them back I noticed that the cameras are now blurry and not able to focus. I’ve tried around 3 different cameras now and each one has a blurred image so it cannot be the actual camera. Any ideas?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I have this issue too, I wonder what causes this and how to fix it. I might add that the portrait camera sensor on my phone has white particles in it..

From my experience iPhone back glass repairs will damage back camera circuits if the tech doesn't use a laser protection mould to protect the internal components from laser burn damage. The laser will burn right through the back glass and damage the circuit on the motherboard. It also happens if the phone is left in tact while breaking off the cracked back glass with a breaking pen tool. If the breaking tool is used in the rear camera area while the module is still installed it causes focusing issues. Usually the breaking tool only damages the module so replacing it will fix it but in your case I think they damaged the motherboard with the laser. Jessa from iPad rehab uploaded a video on YouTube about this issue.
