Selfie camera broken after back glass replacement

I replaced the back glass on an iPhone 14 pro. I used a laser machine to burn away the adhesive so I didn’t have to muscle with the phone too much while removing the glass. After the repair, the selfie camera didn’t work. Everything else with the phone works perfectly. Here are the steps I’ve taken to trouble shoot so far:

  1. Replaced the GPS antenna sensor (thought I could’ve damaged it because it pokes through the frame)
  2. Replaced the camera flash flex cable
  3. Replaced the front camera assembly
  4. Swapped out the front camera only (had to disassemble the front camera assembly with a Dremel)

I did notice the original selfie camera had a small scratch on the flex cable pictured below. Thought replacing would for sure solve the problem but now I’m stuck.

I definitely have time, sorry I just saw this

Update, tried the DIY. Punctured my battery. Took it to batteries plus and they gave me a new battery try and back glass almost half as expensive as Apple

The laser fried the sensor; she's not coming back from this one. You need a new selfie camera for this phone.

The phone will throw alerts if you just buy an OEM camera so you got two choices (well, three): Buy the camera/FaceID assembly from Apple if you can and it's not part of the screen assembly (Self Service repair program), buy a camera and live with the alerts or take the phone to Apple. If it's part of the FaceID system on this phone, you will lose FaceID with a non-paired part.

I’ve already tried two different new selfie cameras. Neither solved the problem. I’d rather lose Face ID than the selfie camera but I still can’t get the selfie camera to work :(

install new front facing camera and restore the phone with fresh ios installation. Should solve your front facing camera issue but face id will still not work
