Why does part of the touchscreen not work?

There is 1 crack in the entire screen where it must have been dropped at one point but only a portion of the screen recognizes being touched. And only a portion of the keyboard works as well. How can this be repaired?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@mikekatopodis the crack in the screen is what interrupts the circuitry of your touch screen. The only way to fix that, is by replacing it. Use something like this video as your guide. To find a replacement, you will have to make sure that you use the proper model number. Then do an online search with that number and look for a digitizer.

While you work on your tablet, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. That will help the next person that has the same problem as you do. It's easy and fun to create these guides. https://ifixit.com/Guide/new The iFixit community will appreciate this.
