Adding USB-C charging option externally

I've seen some adapters around that connect to Razer's proprietary connector, and was wondering if anyone has attempted to use a USB-C PD board to charge the laptop? I mostly use my laptop portably in Linux without use of the discrete graphics so I only require <100W of power which USB-C can provide. But unsure whether the charging port will accept less than the 230W that comes from the regular charger

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@lachlanhogan It depends how razer has their power management set up, with other brands such as Dell they force the CPU to throttle a huge amount if it's not connected to the correct power supply, either you'll get lucky or it won't be usable unfortunately.

Thanks! :)
