I have the very same problem. Already checked drivers, windows configurations, even opened the laptop and checked whether speakers powered on or off. May be it's massive manufactural problem? Has anybody solved such problem?

Hi, did you solve the problem with the internal speakers? It's about two years I've the same problem with the same pc and haven't found any solution. Thanks for sharing what you discovered in case.

Go to the control panel and select the sound icon. If it says the speakers are not working right click on speakers and either select enable or configure.

You can try opening the volume control and make sure the speakers are not muted. If that does not work you may want to make sure the sound driver is not corrupted or up to date. You can download slim drivers at WWW.driverupdate.net. It is a great program for fixing missing, corrupted, or out of date drivers and it is free.

Me too, have taken much time to make sure I don't have a software or hardware problem, (Acer 7741Z-4433 Windows 7 64bit) those avenues are exhausted and I also still have no sound: a couple weeks ago I noticed an exceptional amount of dis-engaged noises while the speakers were still working so know it is a mechanical problem.

I am looking for an external speaker or headphone to try the external connection. I suspect that will be affected as well. So, am saving all my videos and music recordings to another ex drive so I don't lose them when the rest of the systems fail!! Not optimistic in finding a solution.

Put your finger near in the front of headphone socket (about 1/2cm), are you see the red light ? if no, its may occur by driver. try reinstalling the driver or updating the driver ... if yes. it happen because headphone socket(jack) support SPDIF (digital out) its a mechanical problems (my 4810t had the same problems) i just push the spdif sensor in headphone socket with a needle. sometimes its working. sometimes i jush punch the socket :LOL. better take your laptop to acer service center.
