screen turns off when pressing mic area

i'm having a strange issue with my macbook pro, the screen seems to be having some kind of issue:

the screen will flash if the top of the lid is being tapped or if the bottom of the mac hits something (like placing the mac on a table without being super careful).

also if the corner near the microphone (top left) is lightly pressed (this area being near the display cable connector on the logic board). pressing hard on this area will result on the screen turning off and require the screen to be turned off (either by sleeping or rebooting) to turn on again.

apart from that screen works perfectly fine though, and moving the lid at any angle does not summon the issue, and only what stated before will summon the issue.

what could be causing the issue? i found this mac at ewaste and it was probably thrown in there, so a cable might have become loose. and maybe reseating the cable will fix the issue?

edit: i unplugged and plugged the display connector and the issue persists

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@hazel_888 sounds like an issue with the LCD connector (where the display cable connects to the LCD)

This is tricky! There are quite a few things that could be the issue.

You have the right idea this is a loose connection but where?? If I had a few parts to swap out would help in isolating the area.

i sadly don't have much time to swap parts out, i tried reconnecting the display cable, but that didn't fix the issue, so i'm gonna keep it like this for now, it's a minimal problem and the mac is only used for music and stuff so it's not that much of an issue
