while playing games in fullscreen i have not seen any artifacting, but when on my desktop using apps like my browser, i sometimes see groups of small black squares all over my screen appearing for no more than a second or two before disappearing and reappearing somewhere else

@callumventer this "see groups of small black squares all over my screen" is usually a memory issue. It is possible that your games are a bit to emory intensive. I agree with @jayeff, let start by getting the newest drivers for your complete system.

@callumventer so updating the drivers worked?

How much ram is installed in the desktop?

Have you got the latest rtx 3090ti msi suprim x driver version 536.40 installed?

Did you mean a ROG STRIX Z690-E GAMING WIFI motherboard?

If so have you got the latest Version 2306.4.3.0 chipset drivers installed?

I'm curious if you have enough power for that card. You didn't mention your power supply, but Games can get pretty demanding at higher resolutions, (and even for a split second) can cause artifacting. I could also be a result of overclocking, or card overheating.

If you have a friend, etc. who has a similar system, consider swapping a different GPU or PSU.

i have a 1000w psu and unfortunately i do not have any friends with a pc

by

that should be adequate. When you are in-game are you seeing the squares, or only on the desktop?

by

only on the desktop

by

hi everyone, i have done some in game testing and it seems temperature cannot be the issue, my gpu sits around 45-50 degrees while gaming.
