Now the thermostat or whatever that controls the heat doesn’t work

All-Clad waffle iron

I’ve had mine for about two years. Worked great. Now the thermostat or whatever that controls the heat doesn’t work and the waffle iron keeps getting hotter and hotter and the light that comes on when it’s ready to put the waffle batter and never comes on. Super sad.

Answer this question I have this problem too

@donlutterman we are never giving up on anything or anybody. WE want you to fix your waffle iron, and want you to keep it out of the landfill. Post some good pictures of your iron, a label if it has one, anything that might help us to identify what's going on with it.

same answer as above "You'll have to disassemble it" In this case, you will be looking for the thermal switch. It is usually a bi-metal device. I find no service manuals for any All-Clad waffle iron so you are on your own.

B4 you do that, you may want to search for the thermostat part just to see if you can replace the part when you find it. Otherwise, disassembling it may just be an academic task.

@donlutterman If you do manage to disassemble your waffle iron and locate the switch, you can always come back here and add a photo of it to your answer. There are several of us here who have done a lot of parts procurement and we have a fairly good track record at locating compatible replacement parts for various components.
