Hi,

Not sure if this reply will show up on the ifixit thing…

My Vespa is a 2010 LX50 with 5,000 miles.

I suspected a fuel supply/control problem.

@robertfizek this "some throttle priming" leads me to believe that this is a carburetor issue. Possibly a stuck float valve. Remove the float bowl and clean and set the float and check the valve. If you let us know the exact model for your Vespa, we can most likely provide you with more information to get it going again.

@robertfizek here is the service manual for your Vespa Vespa LX 50

While you work on your Scooter, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. We could really use a lot more scooter manuals on here. That will help the next person that has the same problem as you do. It's easy and fun to create these guides. https://ifixit.com/Guide/new The iFixit community will appreciate this.

@robertfizek Awesome. I want one :-)

Anyhow, looks like the carburetor is a DELL'ORTO PHVA 17.5 so let's see if we can find some help for you on that. Looks like those carbs have issues with the automatic choke. Check on here for some more info.

Here is the manual manual conversion kit.
