PS4 Pro Power Supply Overheating Problem?

I've noticed that my PlayStation is running unusually hot, which is causing the fans to produce loud noise. Upon closer inspection, I've determined that the power supply is generating the majority of the heat. Considering this issue, I'm wondering if purchasing a new power supply would be a viable solution. What do you think?

Thermal paste has already been replaced a few days ago.

Answer this question I have this problem too

I find it uncanny that the problem has started in conjunction with new paste application, maybe redo that and see if it helps, unless you’re sure that couldn’t be it and you’ve done it a few times before :) sounds like the power supply is having to work extra hard to cool it down.. maybe

It was hot before and still after the thermal paste replacement, I am now sure it is not because of the replacement because I have re-opened it uo to look at it and it is clean and everything is in the right spot. Thanks though.

Ah well then, is it turning off? Next I would check there’s no corrosion or degradation of solder joints, beyond that maybe a new psu is on the cards afterall, if it’s not giving heat warnings and turning off you could be right :) I’m sure there’s some expert ps4 fault finders here that will have better ideas
