The 70D has a more rudimentary AF system that often needs assistance the 77D and 80D do not need; it's the 9-zone system that a lot of midrange Canons used for a few years until DIGIC 6 and 7 came out (still used on the entry-level cameras like the DIGIC 4+ T7. One thing that helps those 9 zone systems is they sometimes let you bias towards specific pixels, others do not; it depends on the camera but most of them generally allow this. If you know you're focusing more left, bias towards the left.

It does require you to be in a manual mode on most of them to adjust it, so beware. While I do not have a photo of how you put the camera into manual cleaning mode, I would also blow out the AF sensor (it's below the CMOS sensor and only accessible in the manual cleaning mode) but this can also help if it's a dust issue.
