Chosen Solution

If resetting The SMC (System Management Controller) Doesn't Resolve the Issue,

I Bet The battery is dead, OR the logic board is dead

I think that might be it as well but I cannot take the computer apart

Do you have any suggestions on how I could fix this problem without pulling it apart or factory resetting it

@macbookuse38039 - Hmm, have no Idea.. @danj Any Ideas?

@beanman56 - I would install this gem of an App CoconutBattery and post a snapshot of the main window to see what’s happening.

Given the age of the system my bet is the battery needs replacing. I’m on my fourth battery on my 2012 15” system and it’s getting near its next one, but I’m a heavy user so others might get better life out of their system, even still battery’s do age so with little or no use time alone will do you in.

Hi @beanman56,

Thanks for that and I have already got the app Coconutbattery installed and I cannot take the MacBook Pro 2012 apart.

Kind regards,
