Joy con is not recongnized but charges

Hi there,

So I have an OLED switch that the right joy con does not connect when the controller is docked. I tried with two sets and neither would connect but it’ll charge the Joycon. So I order a rail and replaced it, put everything back together and now I have the same exact issue. Works wireless but won’t connect to hand held but will charge.

Any help is appreciated.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

So you replaced the rail on the switch? I'd order a new connector assembly for the joycon as well. They are not hard to disassemble you just have to layout the parts in order to aid in reassembly. Watch the two springs don't jump out and go easy with the ribbon connectors.

The assembly in the joy con? Wouldn’t that be ruled out since two different right side joy con don’t work but the exact 2 work on another switch

@pehter No idea pal, trying to work out what the problem is is a bit harder when the item isn't in front of you. So your joycons connect and work with another switch but not the one you swapped the rail on. If that's the case it could be a connector or a board issue. I'd take a look at the connector for the rail under a microscope for pins out of line or damaged etc.

I’ve done various unpair and pairing to the second switch and going back to the bad one and no luck.
