True tone iPhone xr

Anyone have experience with EFAITHFIX screen COF replacement kit? I cannot get the unit to read the original screen data. wondering if the connection to the original screen is broken. The screen was broken/shattered in the top middle where all the fragile items - the camera/speaker/illuminator are located. But the screen with faded vertical lines functioned. A warning that face id had been disabled came up right after the crash.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

hello David,

you need a reader to read the broken screen. You enter this data through the same reader into the new one screen. The condition is that you have a working TrueDepth tape that controls the entire TrueTone process. A working Face.ID is not required to run TrueTone.

If you don't have a reader (it's quite expensive), go to the nearest repair shop with a broken and new screen. Ask for data transfer - it certainly won't cost you much.

Hi David,

I had to look up just what a "EFAITHFIX screen COF replacement kit" is; from what I saw on Amazon it's just a replacement screen with tools included. What I didn't see included was any equipment capable of transferring the True Tone data that came with the kit, unless you bought a different one than the one I saw.

So if there isn't a device programmer included with the kit, I don't understand what you're doing to read the original screen data. Do you have a programmer of your own that isn't working? If so, what kind do you have? I have the QianLi iCopy2 so I know that you can get the True Tone data needed either from the old screen or directly from the phone itself. 3uTools is capable of reading the MtSN number needed, then that number needs to be programmed into the replacement screen with a programmer.
