Hello,

I'm facing an issue with my monitor, and I'm hoping the knowledgeable community here can lend me a hand in resolving it. Recently, I noticed the appearance of persistent stripes on my monitor screen. I cannot be entirely certain about the cause.

I would greatly appreciate any guidance or suggestions on how to address this issue. Perhaps you have encountered a similar situation or possess expertise in monitor troubleshooting.

Thank you in advance for your assistance and support. Your expertise will be invaluable in resolving this frustrating situation.

@giviko yes! you definitely want to change your cleaning practice. Do not spray anything on the screen. If you got to clean it, spray the proper cleaning fluid on a micro-fibre cloth and use that to wipe. This looks like you have water stains from within the display assembly. Possibly on one of the diffuser sheets. You need to be careful so that your driver boards do not start to corrode or shorten out from any fluid you spray on the screen. It seeps into the panel from between the bezel and the display. I would suggest you leave it since tearing a panel apart has it's own risks of causing more damage.

I apologize for the confusion. I am not entirely certain that the substance is water; I am merely assuming that to be the case. Thanks for your guidance.

@giviko it may not be water but it's definitely liquid. The only liquid should be the one used to clean the monitor. Unless of course, it's some sort of spill. I still would approach it the same way :-)

Is the external remedy for this issue? Thank you for your help.

@giviko You could try and see if this changes by using a mixture of a few drops of dish soap and water. The n use a lint free cloth and dip it into the mixture and clean your monitor from top to bottom. After that use just clean water on a cloth to remove the soapy residue. Now, if your water is anywhere like mine, I suggest you use some denatured water. My water has a really high calcium content which leaves streaks on pretty much any surface :-)

I want to go to your previous comment where you mentioned:

‘This looks like you have water stains from within the display assembly.’ and ‘ It seeps into the panel from between the bezel and the display.’

I am curious to know if using a hair dryer to dry the water between the panel and the bezel is a good practice. I have seen this mentioned somewhere on the internet, however, I am hesitant to try it until I have heard an expert opinion.
