Is it even possible to fix the charging issue?

I have worked on this one for someone twice and it is happening again. What happens with this watch is at some point the charger has connection problems and it will not charge without cleaning with contact cleaner. I’ve tried to save the watch again but now it no longer stays on, or refuses to charge. Not my first rodeo with Fitbits, 2nd one with this issue.

Is there any way to even save this watch or have I hit the limit on this watch and it’s dead? I feel like these Fitbit watches are hopeless in terms of repair as I have not found a good way into them.

Garbage products. I've repaired Fitbits in the past. Fitbit don't make them to be repaired, they don't even repair them themselves. You can buy parts online. See if you can get a good condition spares or repairs on ebay and swap the parts out.

@strongbow My Apple Watch is just as bad to be fair. But at least Apple has AC+ so if it breaks due to abuse or after 1 year there's options.

Fitbits are garbage. I tried to explain it to the owner but they don't ever listen. They let companies put garbage out, keep buying it and dumping the problem on me to jerry rig it until it inevitably dies.

Hello, i was having the same issue with samsung fit band or what was it. Very old device also not with wireless charging but with goldplated pins. After when the gold was scratched out come oxidacion and same problém. I was solving this with my juwelery shop, he was make goldplating those pins, (or solder there some slim gold plate, iam not sure anymore) and was solved.

Yeah the screen is cracked on this one so not worth spending big bucks on, but I'm down to try brushing the contacts.

Its the model with 4 pins?

by

@vojtech59738 Yes. Literally no way to service it.

When is the gold pins allready oxidated you can solder on them little bit with solder paste what contain silver... It will also oxidated after some time but not so quick like this Cu pins

@vojtech59738 As long as I can avoid having to hear about replacing it for a little longer I'm at a point where anything reasonable (like brushing the contacts) is fair game.
