Hall Effect stick replacement.

The stick that holds the thumb sticks on the right has been broken on my Gulikit KingKong 2 Pro. I just want to replace the hall effect stick. Desolder it and replace it with a new one. Does Gulikit or ifixit provide the hall effect stick alone?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Gulikit do sell replacement sticks - I contacted their support email address and asked. In fact even though I'd asked for one replacement stick I received two what what I considered quite a nominal fee.

There is, however, a caveat - like most modern consumer electronics lead-free solder has been used, and removing the existing stick from the board is by no means straightforward given there are 8 solder points to deal with.

I found that snipping off the legs between the controller and the board was best, and having a second pair of hands available to keep things steady as the pin and solder remnants are removed.

It is however still far easier to replace than Dualshock or Xbox sticks, so there is that.

No, they don't sell the replacements of the standard Gulikit control stick module separately. I can only guess it's to bolster the Gulikit KingKong controllers relative to other options on the market assuming the stick can be fitted without secondary boards or the like on competitor options.

However.

Gulikit does sell Steam Deck replacement modules, which are attached to a board. These can be found on various online storefronts. If these are of the same sort found in your own Kingkong, you might be able to desolder them from their boards to install on your controller. Just a hunch. Also, Gulikit's replacements are relatively costly as of now. Weigh the value of these replacement components and related equipment to the cost of your controller when making a purchasing decision.

I hope this expands your options.
