Battery Issue: Laptop not staying on

My HP (G6-1d70US) does not stay on after I plug out the adapter. The battery is new and indicator says its on full charge. Please advise.

Create a battery report just to verify that the battery is charging correctly.

When you have the report, compare the Design Capacity value versus the Full Charge Capacity value. For a new, good battery they should nearly be the same value.

If the battery is OK, try reinstalling the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery driver in Device Manager and then let Windows reinstall it and check if that resolves the problem.

To get to Device Manager in Win10/11 press the Win key + the x key (both together) and select the Device Manager link. When in Device Manager scroll down to the Battery category, click on the > symbol to expand the category. Next right click on the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and click on Uninstall and follow the prompts.

Shut down the laptop in the normal manner and then restart it and let Windows reinstall the drivers again and check.
