Battery hitting the display

I just replaced my battery and the new battery hits/crushes the display, causing some discoloring along the cracked part of the display.

The 1st image shows the display is properly attached to the chassis of the phone, while the 2nd image shows the display is removed/unscrewed (P2/Pentalobe Screw) from the chassis.

There's also some discoloration/white streak around the browser's forward button in the 1st photo, but not present if the display is unscrewed from the chassis, shown in the 2nd photo.

Is it because the glass is shattered so I have a clearance issue or is it the battery?

PS: The battery is slightly taller than the Taptic Engine and speaker, and almost as tall as the logic board.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

the technician that installed the battery likely left the adhesive from a previous or original battery install. this adhesive is also like rolled or gummed up compounding this issue. it also appears like one or several of the following screws are not fully tightened down.

make sure these are down all the way (don't use excessive force just check that they are not loose)

also investigate if the frame of the phone is bent. You can do so by laying in back down on a flat surface like a table and seeing if it rocks if when you "tech deck it" reference the image below make sure the camera bump hangs off the edge so there is no high or low spots.

fix:

  1. unscrew and remove the hold down plate for the LCD and battery flex cables
  2. unplug the battery
  3. unscrew and remove the face id flex plate cover then unplug it
  4. unplug and remove the display assembly
  5. remove the battery
  6. clean up the adhesive under the battery itself
  7. replace both screen and battery

they said they replaced the battery, so no tech fault

The battery adhesives have been completely removed. Everything has also been screwed tight and the frame/chassis of the phone is straight, but I'm still getting the same issue.
