Laptop fails to boot after login screen.

I can log in to my laptop on the opening login screen, however after that the screen is black.

Can you login in to Windows with a display if you start the PC in safe mode?

I have not tried that yet. How do I start the PC in safe mode?

This seems like to be a software issue. You might have to reset the pc, you can keep all files though if you do it in the Windows Recovery system.
