laptop wont turn on after a spark in battery connector

My laptop battery died so I got a new one. I removed the old battery, i plugged in the new one and tested it. The laptop turned on, everything was working fine. While I was putting the screws on the battery, my screwdriver touched the connector which connects the battery and the motherboard, and it produced a little spark. So now my laptop is not turning on. When I connected the charger it got turned on and boots properly. But it doesn't work without the charger.

Please help me

Any spark in the laptop can damage hardware components. Without checking, no one can say what the fault is.

@erenyeager72921 "But it doesn't work without the charger." sounds like your accidental touch caused a shortening of the battery circuitry. That is why your computer does not run on battery power. You will have to determine what got shorted out. Take some GOOD pictures of your motherboard and in particular the area where you worked on. Let's see if we can find some bad components. This repair will most like require board level soldering etc. so it'll be not the easiest of all fixes.

Try this too. Disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard and leave it off for a while couple of hours. Remove the AC power from your laptop and press the power button down and hold for about a minute. Then reconnect power and see if that made a difference.
