keys (especially around wasd) dont work after replacing the battery

So yesterday i replaced my old battery with a new one it worked fine for the first day,
today some of the keys especially on the left side of the keyboard sometimes just stop working.
restart doesn't fix this, switching back to the new battery does fix it but that is not an option since its pretty much dead.
I'd love to know if i can fix this issue since i'm not sure if i can get a refund on the new battery.

Options

There is a good chance that the ribbon cable for the keyboard became unseated during the initial battery change. Even if unseated slightly this could cause issues. If you can, try to reseat the cable that connects the keyboard to the logic board.
