Trackpad Click Not Registering After LCD Panel Replacement

I've recently replaced an LCD panel on an Idea pad 3, and for some reason the trackpad no longer works. The person who owns the laptop says the trackpad worked fine before, but the panel has been broke 2-3 years and I know there wasn't use during that period. Is there anything that might lead to the clicking not working?

It physically depresses and make the click sound, and if I press it maybe 10-15 times, one of those clicks will register. The trackpad movement also works, so drivers don't seem the be the issue.

I also have an available trackpad to replace it with if I need to buy one, I just want to exhaust all my possibilities for now before we dive into that, because I think it might be more of a motherboard issue but I could be wrong.

I've updated the entire laptop, the BIOS, all the drivers. I've uninstalled the device and reinstalled manually.

Any thoughts on what else I can do?
