AC, Check engine light

I have a Ford Escape 2012 Runs perfectly.

But the last 3 days have been extremely warm, so I have been running the AC for the last 3 days. Today my check engine light came on, I thought it would go off after the car sat because I didn't need it Fri or Sat But it is still on. ALSO the passenger side vents blow very cold air, while the drivers side blow cool.

Last month I had to replace the rack n pinion not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. Any suggestions, would be greatly appreciated.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi @shyneburt,

Get the vehicle's ODBII port scanned to see if they're are any codes being shown.

A check engine light is just that - a warning light to check the engine as something is wrong. Getting the port scanned is the quickest way to find out what's happening with the engine.

Larger retail auto parts stores in the USA will do this for free apparently.
