Is the motherboard from the 2016 compatible with the 2017 MacBook Pro?

i have a 15" macbook pro touchbar 2017 with a faulty motherboard, can i swap the motherboard for a 2016 15" macbook pro touchbar are they compatible between them?

Check the screw holes and ribbon cables, but I do not believe that to be the case.

While you could do that you can’t just swap out the logic board you also need to use its mated power button.

Why are you going this way? What is the condition of the 2016 system?
