Bad display or bad display cable?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to help my colleague with his MacBook Pro 13" Late 2020.

Since 2 weeks, his MacBook Pro has glitching screen problem.

The issue happens with the lid open at a certain angle. If he raises or lowers the lid, the screen flicker with lines patterns like a broken display. When he closes the lid to put the MacbookPro in sleep mode and open it again, the screen stays black but with the backlight on. He needs to force shutdown the MacBook Pro to get a non glitched image it works sometimes but not always.

I'm wondering if this is a bad display or a if it's a bad display cable? Or do cables and connections need to be cleaned or checked first?

Here are some videos and images to show the issue:

Note:
This MacBook Pro had a water damage 2 years ago that let a spot on the bottom right side of the screen. But the MacBook Pro continued to work properly.

I hope the problem is clear enough to get your best help on this issue.

Thanks a lot for your help!

I think this is most likely a failed display assembly or display daughter board. My recommendation would be to replace the display.

That's what I thought. I will order a new full assembly screen and try to fix it like that. As soon as it's done, I'll let you know the result. Thanks a lot.
