Why won't HDMI input work after SMC reset?

I had an issue with power input on my Macbook. I connected the charger, and it seemed to disconnect and connect every two seconds. I resetted the SMC, and the problem went away. Only issue is, now my HDMI adapter won't work (throught the USB-C connector). I've tried a different adapter, different HDMI cable, different TV. I also tried resetting everything from the computer, that is SMC, NVRAM etc. Hard reset I haven't tried, but have a hard time believing that would help. Do any of you have ideas what to do, or what might be the issue? I think the USB-C connector might be faulty, but charging works normally?

It sounds like you most likely have a damaged USB-C port. Since there's just the one port on this model it can be pretty frustrating when they fail. I'd recommend following this guide to remove the port and inspect the pins for damage. If the pins are damaged then you should replace the part. Good luck!
